The WVRF Annual Summit gathers more than 3’000 international attendees from across the globe and brings together various VR/AR content providers from creative, technical as well as research fields. It is a unique event based in the charming Swiss Alps that draws VR/AR leaders and enthusiasts.

As we are talking about a brand new market, it is important to create a platform proposing not only excellence in VR/AR, but also giving an opportunity to young talents to meet with potential investors. This is what the Market is all about.

Content Market: 11-13 May

To foster the budding of creation, the Content Market will allow independent artists to present their projects and their teams to investors.

This section will be divided into two :

1. A permanent space sponsored by HTC Vive called the Digital Library. This shared space will present projects of artists who registered their VR creation and production in the Content Market.

2. Pitching sessions. There will be 10 pitching sessions of 90 minutes, each with several pitching opportunities, allowing artists to meet in laid back, comfortable surroundings with investors for funding.

Exhibition : 11-13 May

The Swiss Pavilion

Switzerland is home to many talents in the new field of VR technology. In recognition of this leadership, it will every year have its own space at the Summit in order to present the most innovative university and start-up projects with the financial support of Pro Helvetia. Crans-Montana and the canton of Valais also have their place in this pavilion; in 2017 they will be represented by Adventures-Lab. A place is reserved for the National Thematic Network named Virtual Switzerland supported by the CTI in Bern.

The Country of Honour Pavilion

This year, China has been chosen as the Country of Honour. This choice was motivated by an important network, developed in China in 2016 by the World VR Forum, as well as the country’s growing interest in virtual reality and its vibrant arts and technology. The goal is to encourage Chinese enterprises to invest more in Switzerland and in particular the Valais, and to open their markets to Swiss companies. The recent visit of President Xi Jinping to Switzerland shows the strengthened relations between the two countries in science and trade while the participation of a strong Chinese delegation to the Summit, consisting of technological, creative and financial actors, reaffirm the commitment of China to VR and AR. In 2018, Canada will succeed China. An exhibition dedicated to the country of honour will be at the heart of the Market.
